About
Greg Micek
Greg Micek is a globally recognized Inventor Advocate, visionary entrepreneur, and founder of the Houston Inventors Association (HIA) and Young Inventors Showcase (YIS). Over his 40-year career, he has dedicated himself to empowering inventors of all ages and advancing innovation through public service and education. As the driving force behind YIS, Greg is pioneering a global rollout of a unique 8-week curriculum that trains educators to inspire young minds to invent and transform ideas into marketable solutions. His unparalleled track record includes launching 13 six-figure crowdfunding campaigns on GiveButter.com as part of a groundbreaking “Innovation Pod” initiative.
A non-practicing attorney and business “architect,” Greg’s passion lies in crafting innovative business models that bridge gaps and solve pressing challenges. His early career was marked by his leadership in hosting a seminal inventors’ conference in 1983, which catalyzed the formation of HIA. Today, the association stands as the largest local inventors’ organization in the U.S., fostering growth and success for countless inventors in the Houston Gulf Coast community.
Greg’s commitment to public service extends beyond his advocacy. He has spearheaded programs that blend public safety empowerment—such as his work with FACES™ facial composite software—and economic empowerment, where he enables young inventors to navigate the marketplace successfully. His innovative efforts have earned him recognition as a “Houston Hero” in the Houston Chronicle.

Despite facing significant challenges, including a $12 million battle to defend his patents against Big Tech, Greg’s resilience and advocacy for inventor rights have solidified his role as a national leader and voice for independent inventors. His work with organizations like US Inventor underscores his dedication to systemic change.
Driven by authenticity, family, integrity, public service, and loyalty, Greg draws inspiration from his parents—his father, who left the priesthood to build a family, and his mother, a visionary behind the Holy Family Shrine. Greg balances his professional pursuits with personal passions for sports and networking, often immersing himself in Houston’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Greg Micek continues to shape the future of innovation, blending creativity with strategy to ensure inventors and innovators thrive in an ever-evolving world.
